CastelBrando, the magnificent castle near Treviso, hosted another prestigious event, the G8 Agriculture Ministers’ Meeting from 18 to 20 April 2009, which brought together the agriculture ministers of the world’s eight most “influential” countries, and the biggest international organisations in the sector.
Located in north-east Italy between Venice and the Dolomites, CastelBrando has undergone a restoration project that has seen one of Europe’s largest and oldest castles converted for tourist use. Today, it is offered to the market as a medieval hamlet perfectly equipped to host events on an international scale.
Inside is a hotel with 80 rooms, suites and apartments divided among three charming buildings (50 in CastelBrando, 16 in CastelBrando Dependance and 14 in Villa Marcello Marinelli). The complex also includes a modern spa set in the oldest wing of the castle, a restaurant, a small informal eatery and various bars and wineries.
The conference and events centre consists of three theatres and eight rooms: the historic Salone degli Stemmi (300 sqm), Teatro Magno (550 sqm), Teatro Tenda (1,000 sqm) and the 18th century rooms (50/80 sqm each). All are equipped with modern technology, and together can host up to 1,800 people.
Its offer is completed by a boutique and a 50-hectare wood, a great backdrop for beautiful walks, horse rides or cycle excursions.
