Events and congresses acquired by TCB will enjoy a 15% discount on room hire, thanks to an agreement between Torino Convention Bureau and FAI (Fiat Attività Immobiliari), the owner of the Lingotto Conference Centre, the city’s largest meeting venue.
“We’re satisfied with the agreement reached” says TCB chairman Livio Besso Cordero. “It is an important signal given by Fiat regarding the development of Turin's conference market, particularly in light of the global economic crisis, which has also hit the events sector. The discount will stimulate growth in congress numbers at Lingotto, the jewel in the crown of the city’s offer, and the entire local economy will benefit”.
Forthcoming conferences acquired by Torino Convention Bureau include: the international psychosomatic medicine conference in September (1,500 participants); the Euroscience Open Forum (5,000 scientists expected) in July 2010 and the national engineering congress (1,500 delegates) in September 2010; the international biochemical conference in 2011 and the national radiology convention in 2012, expected to attract 3,000 and 5,000 attendees respectively.
