The Hotel Santa Tecla Palace in Acireale, near Catania, has launched the second phase of its renovation, which includes the construction of a conference centre and the completion of the communal spaces.
The conference centre will include a large multi-purpose hall, with a capacity of 500, which can be divided into two rooms seating 200. It will have natural light and overlook green spaces with a view of the sea. The centre will also have seven breakout rooms: two with a capacity of 90 seats, one seating 15, and four able to accommodate 25 people. They will also have natural light and command sea views.
Two large foyers, of 460 and 130 sqm respectively, will separate the main hall from the other meeting spaces. A 300 sqm roof garden will be available for use as another room with a capacity of 120. The conference centre will be linked to the hotel but will have an independent entrance, and will be equipped with leading edge equipment. The hotel plans to upgrade its two existing meeting rooms with capacities of 80 and 40, taking the total number of spaces available to 11.
The restaurants and the hall will also be renovated, with work scheduled for completion in April 2009.
