Preparations for EMEC 2009 in Turin proceed apace

EMEC 2009, the MPI's European Meetings & Events Conference, will be one of the biggest events for the European meetings industry, with between 700 and 800 delegates expected. The conference returns to Italy for the first time in ten years, when it was hosted by Rimini; this time it will be Turin's turn, from 1 to 3 March 2009.

The MPI Italian Chapter is working on the preparations. The organising committee is headed by Marcella Gaspardone (director of the Turin Convention Bureau), while the honours committee comprises Sergio Moscati, chairman of MPI Italian Chapter and Adolfo Parodi, chairman of Federcongressi, as well as representatives of Enit, Federalberghi, Federturismo, the Piedmont region and the City of Turin.

The event will be packed with meetings and commercial, professional and social networking opportunities. It is open to anyone working in the sector, no longer MPI members only, making it wider in scope and more representative of the industry.

The conference will take place against the backdrop of some exceptional venues, including the Palavela, which will host the get-together on the first evening, and the Venaria Royal Palace, where the final gala dinner will be held.
