Ora Hotels has just opened a hotel in Parma, recently acquired another in Zanzibar, and is renovating a third in Assisi set to open in 2009. Its ambition is to open a further twenty properties in Italy over the next five years.
The chairman of Ora Hotels, Vincenzo Presti, previously general manager of Domina Hotels & Resorts and then CEO of My Hotels, comments: “In Italy, there is plenty of scope for international, modern, efficient hotels at the medium/high end of the market. At present, there are few of these in Italy’s smaller towns, where the industry mainly consists of family-run hotels, often not at the cutting edge in terms of management, facilities and marketing. We intend to plug this gap.”
The recently-opened 4-star Ora Hotels City Parma is set in an old farmhouse 3.5 km from the city centre and 700 metres from the airport. It has 50 rooms, a 20-seater meeting room, an outside relaxation area and a 5,000 sqm garden.
