The DMC strengthens its position by addressing both the Central American and North European markets.
“In 2008, we consolidated our relationship with a large US operator based in Puerto Rico, expanding our portfolio of American clients”, explains operations manager Nicola Del Bono. “In spring, they commissioned us to organise two incentive trips, one for 50 participants, the other for 150; we thus brought Puerto Rico’s largest telephone company and one of the largest construction groups in Central America to Italy”.
The customer opted for a classic approach, with visits to Rome and Florence, and with a particular focus on Italy’s wine and food traditions. The final gala dinner was enlivened by an informal “wine stomping contest”, and also included folk music and the participation of the winner of a Puerto Rican reality TV show. “Again with a view to expanding and strengthening our position, we have also been focusing on the North European market, and in October, we will organise a four-day incentive event for 65 employees of Fiat Belgium against the magnificent backdrop of the Amalfi Coast”, Del Bono continues. As well as a visit to the Alfa Romeo car factory near Naples, the programme includes a cruise to Capri with a stop on the island and tours of Sorrento and Pompeii. The gala dinner will be held in Torre Normanna, an historic lookout tower overlooking the sea at the centre of the Amalfi Coast. “Another source of satisfaction this year is that we have become part of Skal International, the International Association of Travel and Tourism Professionals”.
