In 2009, the 4-star estate in Umbria will have 18 new rooms and a new 250-seater meeting room.
Next year will see various developments at Tenuta dei Ciclamini, the hotel complex boasting medieval architecture set in the Umbrian countryside, 12 km from Todi. “By the end of 2009, we will have increased our accommodation capacity from 52 double rooms to 70, and will also have a new 250-seater meeting room”, says manager Daniela Gimmelli.
“Another innovation was introduced this year: the estate raised a new breed of horses, the cavallino umbro, in order to provide a gentler alternative to the Maremma horses for rides in the idyllic countryside”.
Tenuta dei Ciclamini is a truly extraordinary venue. It is mainly known for its two professional recording studios, which companies often use for music-themed team-building activities: the estate’s trainers get corporate groups to choose a famous song, like Volare by Domenico Modugno or My Way by Frank Sinatra, both of which are known worldwide, and participants then record a CD.
This type of team building has proved very popular among international companies, including publishing group Il Sole 24Ore, Microsoft, Bayer, Audi, Pfizer and Abbot.
But Tenuta dei Ciclamini offers more than music. It boasts a large internal garden covering more than a hectare, two outdoor camp sites for team building activities, two small lakes, sports facilities equipped for horse-riding and football, and is surrounded by walled meadows where horses graze.
A few kilometres away, visitors can immerse themselves in history and tradition, with visits to medieval villages, the fossil forest dating back to the Mesozoic period, one of only two remaining in the world, and the Roman city of Carsole, with its abundance of archaeological treasures.

Tenuta dei Ciclamini comprises a series of houses and towers that form a medieval hamlet, formed like a campus with a large central garden, 68 km from Perugia airport and 100 km from that of Rome. The estate also has a spa and fitness centre, two out and indoor swimming pools and four conference rooms, including a 100-seater theatre. Its restaurant serves dishes made from organic produce grown on the estate.
