The Grand Hotel Palazzo was built in 1884 with a stunning sea view, and was considered by all the tourist guides of the time to be “one of the most beautiful hotels in the world”. In the golden age of the early 20th century, it welcomed nobility and people of distinction such as Guglielmo Marconi, who carried out his first experiments with the telegraph at this very location. The hotel was reopened in July after a three-year renovation project costing EUR 30 million. It has 97 double rooms, seven suites, 17 junior suites, eight penthouse suites and one royal suite, which was restored based on the original design and fitted with a Turkish bath.
In terms of facilities, the Grand Hotel Palazzo has two restaurants, one in a panoramic roof garden and the other on the first floor for events and banquets with a terrace overlooking the sea. It also boasts a 600 sqm spa with a swimming pool, Turkish bath, sauna, fitness room massage rooms and face/body treatments. The six meeting rooms with sea views have a total capacity of 400 and modern audiovisual equipment.
