Growth in incentive activities at Delphina hotels in Sardinia
The 2007 season was an excellent one for the Groups & Incentive division of Delphina Hotels & Resorts. In 2008, the chain is set to unveil new rooms and services at some of its seven properties.

“The 2007 season was the best since the Groups & Incentive division was formed in 2003, and we are working to ensure that this growth trend continues in 2008” says Marcello Cicalò, head of the division at Delphina Hotels & Resorts, which owns and manages seven hotels and resorts in the Gallura region, in northern Sardinia.

The reasons for its success, apart from the exclusivity of the properties and the charming beauty of their locations, lie in the rich menu of incentive programmes on offer. These include, among many, Discover Sardinia, an activity organised for a German advertising agency (350 people): this involved recreating the Sardinia of 100 years ago, exclusively reserving the historic area of an old village, whose population opened its cellars and displayed their typical produce. The guests were immersed in local traditions, and tried their hands at dances, songs and games dating back to the period. Finally, they were treated to a large party with a Middle Eastern theme on the beach of Resort Dune Village.

“2007 was also our first year with two 5-star hotels, the Hotel Capo d’Orso and the Resort Valle dell’Erica”, Cicalò explains. “The concept of freedom at our 5-stars, without pomp and ceremony, but in touch with nature and providing extremely high-quality services, proved very popular on both the European and Italian markets”.

The hotels will also see considerable development in 2008. At the Resort Dune Village, 40 new royal rooms and a cutting-edge spa are being built, while the conference centre is undergoing renovation work, which will endow it a capacity of 420 and 6 breakout rooms from 30 to 90 seats. And there’s more: the Hotel Relax Torreruja will have 15 new master and presidential rooms, while the Hotel Capo d’Orso will get a new presidential suite; at the Hotel Club Cala di Falco, guestrooms will be completely renovated and new areas created; lastly, the Park Hotel Cala di Lepre will boast a new boutique and restaurant for children.

April 2008

The Delphina Hotels & Resorts group has a portfolio of seven properties: Resort Valle dell’Erica, Hotel Marinedda Thalasso & Spa, Hotel Relax Torreruja, Resort Dune Village, Park Hotel Cala di Lepre, Hotel Capo d’Orso and Hotel Club Cala di Falco, all ideal for incentive travel and team-building activities.

Delphina’s incentive programmes include: Biotour Gallura, itineraries that allow participants to discover Sardinia’s organic produce at the farms that harvest it; Survival, an adventure programme that teaches effective survival techniques in the wilds; Percorso Multisport, a sports trial that includes mountain biking, cross-country racing and trekking, swimming and kayaking.
