The 15th congress of the European Association for Psychotherapy, held in Florence from 14 to17 June, was recognised in the annual award for operators who achieve outstanding results in positioning and selling their destinations, products or services (entries range from full-scale campaigns and branding projects to single events and promotions).
The European Association for Psychotherapy congress was brought to the city thanks to the Firenze Convention Bureau and was organised by local agency Promo Leader Service. It received a huge majority of votes from the more than 900 delegates convened in Pattaya (Thailand) for the ICCA General Assembly.
The conference, entitled Humour and other strategies to survive emotional crisis, brought together 1,300 psychotherapists from all over the world, was attended by no less than clown therapy inventor Patch Adams, and involved the active participation of the whole city.
The project presented by Promo Leader Service was the only one to focus on an event; the other three ICCA Award finalists were Congress Frankfurt’s marketing plan, the launch of the Conventions Australia brand and the project to reposition the Australian Gold Coast from a leisure to a meetings destination. The Italian congress was praised for its creativity and the many strands involved in its realisation.
The prize was awarded to Promo Leader Service’s Chief Executive Luigi Cammi at the end of the closing ceremony of the ICCA Congress and Exhibition.
