The six organisations Sanremo Promotion, Ponente Congressi, Cotone Congressi Genova, Convention Bureau Genova, Portofino Coast and Golfo dei Poeti have created Meet InLiguria, the “super consortium” that will promote the entire region on the national and international events markets.
Meet inLiguria was formed to meet the need to move beyond the borders of individual districts, and represents all the structures in the region that provide conference services: 173 venues, including a conference centre that hosts events for up to 1,500 people, 16 with capacities of between 300 and 500, 77 equipped to cater for 100 to 300 delegates, and 86 with space for up to 100.
Income generated by the meetings industry accounts for around 40% of total tourism revenues in Liguria. Meet InLiguria, which is 50%-financed by the Region, has a marketing plan worth EUR 500,000, with four promotional goals: participation in trade shows and workshops, advertising in industry publications, producing promotional material and planning fam trips for operators, buyers and journalists.
