IBM Canada tested the best of Italy in a tour of Tuscany driving the latest models of the legendary red motors

A growing number of prestige businesses are calling Red Travel so they can sample the best of the Italian way of life. The agency, who “packages” tours around the loveliest Italian destinations at the wheel of a “Rossa”, organised last May’s trip for top managers from IBM Canada.
“We made available Ferrari’s four newest models to the 16 participants: a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano F1, a Ferrari F 430 F1 Coupé, a Ferrari F 430 F1 Spider and a Ferrari 612 Scaglietti F1” says Andrea Levy, general manager of Red Travel. “Each guest was able to try all four and get the full brand experience, as well as enjoying the privilege of driving models that normally require getting on a long waiting list”.
The 2-day tour went around Tuscany, along the traffic-free roads of the Chianti and Val d’Orcia areas, with overnight stays in the exclusive 5-star Fonteverde Natural Spa Resort, with excellent cuisine and wine served in Montalcino’s Castello Banfi winery (producer of the famous Brunello) restaurant, as well as a gala dinner in a 12th-century Franciscan convent.
“Our mission is to offer the best of Made in Italy, from cuisine to accommodation, shopping to wellness, tourism to culture, ensuring our clients get a deluxe travel experience, complete assistance for every detail (including shopping appointments in showrooms) and total product personalisation”.
“Participants are accompanied by a tour director, who teaches them to drive the Ferraris and is in radio contact with the group from the lead car of the convoy. Support staff follow on with luggage, take care of security and parking, cleaning and topping up the petrol tank at each stop” says Levy.
Red Travel works only with international clients and boasts staff that speak English, French, Spanish and Russian.
