The Sorrento 5-star, a 17th-century convent converted into a hotel in 1822, has two special offers for October-December 2007, including tasting events and visits of the Gulf of Naples.

“From 15 October to 20 December 2007” says Riccardo Parisi, the hotel manager “international clientele can take advantage of our ‘Grand Hotel Cocumella Autumn Special’, two packages applicable to a minimum of 30 participants”.
The first, at a rate of EUR 580, includes two nights in a double room for single use, a coffee break, a tasting of regional wines and cheeses, two lunches, a gala dinner serving the convent’s traditional recipes and a guided visit to Sorrento’s Museo della Tarsia Lignea with its collection of historical furniture and objects decorated with the marquetry technique.
The second package, offered at EUR 1,000 per person, includes four nights in a double room for single use, a relaxing 15-minute spa massage, a coffee break, a tasting of regional wines and cheeses, two lunches, a gala dinner based on the convent’s traditional recipes, a buffet dinner on the theme of pasta, pastries and antipastos, and two guided visits: one to a plant producing limoncello, the traditional liqueur made here with lemon peel; the other to Sorrento’s Museo Correale di Terranova, with its exhibits of ancient paintings, watches and porcelain.
Both packages include the use of one of the meeting rooms, the fitness centre and the spa, taxes and service charge. “We also offer our guests the use of a 19th-century sailing ship” concludes Parisi. “It can carry up to 18 passengers and is perfect for day trips to the exclusive locations of Capri and Positano”.

Just 56 kilometres from Naples airport and a kilometre from the centre of Sorrento, the Grand Hotel Cocumella is set in a park that rolls down as far as the shore. It has 53 guestrooms (of which 18 are suites) all furnished with period items, four conference rooms (the largest seating 280), three restaurants whose menus include typical Mediterranean recipes, and a new spa opened in 2007.
