The Park Hotel Villa Grazioli gets “teched up”
The hotel, located in a 1500s stately home just outside of Rome, has now added wi-fi to all its areas, at the same time valorizing its artworks.

The perfect marriage of history and the cutting edge. Last winter, the 4-star Park Hotel Villa Grazioli in Grottaferrata, part of the Castelli Romani area, installed wi-fi throughout the location, even in the restaurant. This upgrading will allow the hotel to consolidate its position in the meeting and conference sector.

The hotel is hosted by a 16th-century villa, once owned by a cardinal, and is affiliated with the Relais & Châteaux chain: its 58 guestrooms and suites are furnished with all the grace of the building itself; the five conference rooms, all with daylight, can seat up to 100, and are next to the Galleria del Pannini, a large space decorated by the 18th-century painter Pannini, and which is to all intents and purposes a museum. The salons, available for banquets, receptions and presentations, are all frescoed by 1600s masters: one of the loveliest works is in the Sala dei Putti room and has been recently restored to its former splendour.

Near yet secluded
The Park Hotel Villa Grazioli works mainly with an international clientele, in particular with Belgium, France, Germany, UK and USA; the Spanish and Russian markets are being developed. The hotel offers groups various activities, including wine tasting to discover the famous local wines, cookery courses and tours of the surrounding area.

“The hotel has the plus of being near Rome but at the same time is surrounded by a park that ensures it is totally secluded,” says Francesco Ceribelli, the hotel’s general manager. “That’s why we receive many requests for exclusive use: the launch of new luxury cars, for instance, or prestige meetings, including political and diplomatic events”. The park (covering 15,000 sqm) can be used for outdoor activities, and also for cocktails and aperitifs.

Another amenity at Villa Grazioli is its restaurant, which is becoming a “culinary” destination even with guests not staying at the hotel itself. In spring and summer lunch and dinner are served en plein air, in the hanging garden whose view embraces Rome on one side and the sea on the other.

The Park Hotel Villa Grazioli is located in an area known as the Castelli Romani (Roman Castles) because of the many homes built there by the Roman aristocracy. It is only about 22 kilometres from Rome and is easy to reach both from Fiumicino (35 kilometres) and from Ciampino airport (10 kilometres). The hotel offers a free shuttle service for Frascati station, where trains connect with the capital.
