The recently-inaugurated hotel is at Marina di Portorosa, right on the shore of northeast Sicily and right opposite the Aeolian Islands.
“Hilton have decided to focus on Sicily for various reasons and will be opening two more hotels. Firstly, the island is extremely well-known worldwide and is a great magnet for international markets. Secondly, both Catania and Palermo airports have been upgraded and have now made the island truly accessible. Lastly, it is a destination that does not suffer seasonality issues: the climate is mild all year round, the sea is splendid and there are unique aspects of its history, architecture and culture to be enjoyed,” says Elisa Maroino, Hilton Hotels Corporation marketing manager for Italy.
The Hilton Portorosa Sicily is a resort with several aces up its sleeve, not least of all its lavish selection of incentive and team building activities. “We can offer anything from sailing regattas to treasure hunts and orienteering in the nearby Nebrodi Nature Park,” says Dario Provenza, director of business development. “Even a short stay can include trips to the Aeolian Islands, off-road driving trails in the woods, or some time dedicated to cultural tours and wine-tasting in local wineries”.
The new resort is open all year round and offers 263 guestrooms, three restaurants and 1,908 sqm overall of meeting and event spaces, spread over two floors and able to accommodate up to 1,200 delegates. The main room seats 900, is modular and can also be set up to display vehicles since it has its own direct access large enough for cars and even small vans. In the evenings it converts to a super ballroom.
An outdoor pool and a beach with private facilities ensure prime leisure time for guests.
