The new hotel of the Domina Hotel Group is located in the south of Rome, not far from Ciampino airport: it is a new L-shaped building, surrounded by a large open area, has 252 rooms (of which four are suites), a restaurant and a bar; all areas have wi-fi. The conference centre has six modular rooms, with a capacity ranging from 10 to 350 in plenary session.
“The bar and restaurant have a Mediterranean feel, serving typical Italian dishes as well as regional and Asian cuisine” says general manager Georges Midleje. “From the summer, the hotel will have an open-air swimming pool, but there are already agreements in place for guests to use the sports centre opposite the hotel.”
The potential of the area for post-conference activities is set out in a special programme called 20 km of proposals, which explains how to get the most of the destination: “We are in the outskirts, but we have good transport links. The programme illustrates the activities that may be organised, divided according to their theme”, Midleje explains. Sport accounts for the lion’s share: “Less than three kilometres away lies the Acqua Santa golf course, where, thanks to special agreements, we offer packages that include green fees, lessons and post-conference activities with a golf theme”. The area also has go-kart circuits and a tennis centre. Nearby are the Roman remains of Villa dei Quintili and Appia Antica in a protected park that is perfect for walks or bicycle rides.
