The hotel management company of the Andrea Bulgarella Holding group will open the Grand Hotel Palazzo in Livorno in July and the Grand Hotel San Rossore in Pisa in October. Situated on Livorno’s seafront, the Grand Hotel Palazzo, an historic hotel where Guglielmo Marconi carried out his first experiments with the telegraph, will be restored to the original glory of its design dating back to the end of the 19th century. It will have 22 rooms and six meeting rooms with a maximum capacity of 200. The group has allocated EUR 25 million for the renovation work. The Grand Hotel San Rossore, in the outskirts of Pisa, will be a new 5-star hotel, designed according to the principles of sustainable architecture, and will be located on the edge of the San Rossore nature park. It will have 73 rooms, seven meeting rooms, a spa with beauty farm and a stunning terrace with a view over the city. Just over a year since it began operations, Abitalia Hotels has 16 4- and 5-star hotels in Italy, with a total of 1,400 rooms, and plans to increase this number to 20 in 2008.
