The 5-star luxury hotel in the heart of Puglia really makes use of every space. Thus in September, 400 doctors will meet in the orchard to keep up to date with the latest developments in medicine and visit the exhibition stands.
The charming luxury hotel Masseria Relaise del Cardinale, immersed in the countryside and suspended in time, was created in 2005 from the restoration of a traditional 17th century farm building. It is located in the heart of Puglia, a short distance from the sea, within easy reach of the regional airports (50 km from Brindisi and 60 km from Bari) and even boasts a private heliport.
The estate covers 60 hectares of land, with 3,000 age-old olive trees and a vast citrus orchard, which in September will be transformed into an unusual meeting space for the national congress of SICPRE, the Italian Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery: the 400 doctors due to attend will mainly be grouped around the swimming pool and in the garden, the locations selected for work sessions and the exhibition stands.
This original idea makes the most of the potential offered by the venue and confirms its appeal for events organisers. The hotel has been renovated to minimise its impact on the environment and in accordance with local traditions, and still has all its original spaces, such as the old stables, which are now home to the restaurant.

The Masseria Relais del Cardinale is three kilometres from the sea and within easy reach of Ostuni, the “white town”, Alberobello, with its traditional cone-shaped structures known as “trulli” and the extraordinary caves of Castellana. It has 65 Renaissance-style rooms with vaulted ceilings, all equipped with hydromassage bath or Swedish shower, satellite TV with LCD screen, ADSL and wi-fi.
The four meeting rooms, also with vaulted ceilings, are located in a new, adjoining building; the plenary room has 350 seats, and has a multimedia system with simultaneous translation software.
The hotel also boasts a spa with beauty centre, sauna, solarium and hydro-shiatzu bath, a pool with an artificial beach and stables for guests who want to explore the ten kilometres of tracks around the estate and the sand dunes nearby on horseback.
