Despite the ultra-modern design of the mirrored glass and steel facade, the My Hotels Galilei in Pisa, opened a few months ago, is in fact the result of the restoration of an old glass factory. It is specifically designed for the meetings and business travel markets.
The hotel has 156 rooms, including two junior suites, all furnished in a modern style, sound-proofed and equipped with large LCD screens, pay per view tv, an electronic safe and independent heating.
The first floor of My Hotels Galilei is dedicated to the conference centre, which can accommodate a total of 1,000 delegates in five rooms of varying capacity (the plenary hall has 600 seats theatre-style). These are all connected to the large foyer, used for coffee breaks, cocktails and exhibitions.
Guests can make use of wi-fi technology throughout the hotel, a business corner with computer, scanner and printer, and a 24-hour concierge facility to book guided visits to the city and its museums, and trips around the region.
The hotel boasts a 350-seater restaurant that serves national, international and Tuscan cuisine, to be enjoyed with the many regional wines in the cellar. Guests also have access to a well-equipped gym and a terrace offering panoramic views.
