It has just opened a hotel in Parma, recently acquired another in Zanzibar, and is renovating a third in Assisi set to open in 2009. Its ambition is to open a further twenty properties in Italy over the next five years.

Standard system for hotel stars introduced in Italy
The government has just launched a measure to introduce a single standard of hotel classification across Italy. Up to now, the 21 individual regional authorities have had decision-making power regarding for assigning stars to hotels, with variations in regulations leading to differences in quality and confusion among users.
